Craig Barrett - Chairman

Craig R. Barrett was Chairman of the Board of Intel Corporation from May, 2005
May, 2009. He became Intel’s fourth President in May of 1997 and Chief Executive Officer in 1998. He was elected to Intel’s Board of Directors in 1992 and served as Chief Operating Officer from 1993 to 1997. Barrett began his tenure at Intel as a Technology Development manager in 1974.

Prior to joining Intel, Dr. Barrett was an Associate Professor at Stanford University in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.


John Hartnett - President & Founder

John Hartnett is President & Chief Executive Officer at G24 Innovations and is President and Founder of the Irish Technology Leadership Group.

Prior to joining G24i, Mr. Hartnett was senior vice president of global markets at Palm, Inc., where he was responsible for worldwide sales, service and support. Previously, Mr. Hartnett was executive vice president of worldwide operations, service, support and eCommerce at Handspring, Inc. and was an integral member of the executive leadership team that led the 2003 merger of Handspring and palmOne to form what is known today as Palm, Inc.

He has over 20 years of senior management experience across sales, marketing, and operations in the U.S. and Ireland. His career in high tech boasts some of the industry’s leading companies such as Handspring, Metacreations, Claris, AT&T, Digital Equipment, and Wang.

Since 2004, Mr. Hartnett has been annually honored as one of the top 100 Irish American business executives in the U.S. by Irish America Magazine. He is a member of the Wireless Advisory Board in the U.S. for Enterprise Ireland and is the President and Chairman, as well as a founding member, of the Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG) in the U.S.

Mr. Hartnett earned a marketing degree through the Marketing Institute of Ireland, a post-graduate diploma in finance through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and completed the executive management program at Stanford University. He is a native of Limerick, and on the board of the University of Limerick Foundation. John is a member of The American Ireland Fund and the US-Ireland Alliance.



Gordon Ciochon - Executive Director

Gordon has over 30+ years of executive experience in Silicon Valley specializing in World Wide operations and new business start ups in the High-Tech sector.

Gordon was VP of World Wide Operations for Symantec where he selected Ireland as the manufacturing site in 1990, oversaw the construction of the facility and hired the Irish executive staff. He then became President of KickFire where he helped raise $13M in 2 rounds of funding and later sold the company to a UK based firm. He also served as President and COO of The Enterprise Network (TEN) of Silicon Valley and, prior to joining the IIC, was the President and CEO of the start up Primarq, Inc.

Gordon holds a BA in Political Science from San Jose State University and did his graduate work in the Masters of Urban Policy and Administration program at San Francisco State University.


Conrad Burke - Innovalight, Inc.

Conrad Burke is President & CEO of Innovalight, Inc., a solar energy startup based in Sunnyvale, California.

Conrad is from Ireland and has lived in the United States for the past 10 years. His career has spanned venture capital, research and development, product management, marketing, sales and general management in renewable energy, semiconductors and the IT industry. Prior to Innovalight, Conrad was a venture partner at Sevin Rosen Funds, a leading US venture capital firm. He has also deep international experience having lived and worked in the US, Germany, UK and Japan. Conrad has represented Innovalight as a Technology Pioneer at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in 2006 and 2007. He has a MS in Physics from Trinity College, Dublin, a BS in Physics from University College, Dublin, Ireland and he has also attended The London Business School.


John Gilmore – Sling Media, Inc.

Johnny has over 20 years of executive management and operations experience with high tech consumer electronics and manufacturing companies.  

At Sling Media, the digital media company that develops and markets the Slingbox and SlingPlayer technologies, Johnny has been responsible for growing the company from a startup consumer electronics company to becoming an integral part of Echostar Corporation (Nasdaq: SATS), the Denver based video technology provider.  He was instrumental in guiding Sling through the successful acquisition by EchoStar in October 2007.  Sling continues to offer new, innovative and award winning ways for consumers to experience broadcast and IP delivered video content. 

Prior to joining Sling, Johnny worked at smartphone device manufacturer Handspring (acquired by Palm) and prior to that, with Iomega Corporation. He started his career with 10 years in the strategic and operations consulting practices of Arthur Andersen and Andersen Consulting. He has extensive international experience having worked in the UK, the Netherlands, Australia and the United States.

Johnny has a BA in Economics from the University of Manchester, England and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.


Rory McInerney - Intel Corporation

Rory M. McInerney is vice president, Digital Enterprise Group and Director of the Enterprise Microprocessor Group. McInerney leads multiple engineering teams responsible for the design and development of Xeon®, Itanium® and HPC microprocessors targeting the server computing market segment.

Prior to his current role, McInerney led the design team for the Intel® Xeon Multi-Processor family.

McInerney joined Intel in 1990 as a senior engineer on the Intel 395 Cache Controller, and later moved to a design role on the Intel 486 family of processors. He later joined the design team for the first 64-bit Intel Itanium processor and went on to lead successive generations of this processor family.       

In 2007, McInerney received an Intel Achievement Award for delivering the Tulsa Xeon-MP processor to market. He holds two U.S. patents on microprocessor architecture and has 5 technical papers published in refereed journals and conferences.

McInerney graduated from the National University of Ireland, Cork, in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1997 with a master's degree in business administration. He is an alumnus of the Graduate School of Business having completed the Stanford Executive Program in 2008.


Barry O’Sullivan - Cisco, Inc.

As senior vice president of Cisco’s Voice Technology Group (VTG), Barry O’Sullivan leads Cisco’s Voice over IP and Unified Communications Business. Generating in excess of $2 billion annual revenue, VTG is responsible for developing the company’s IP telephony systems, IP phones, customer contact solutions, and unified communications applications including messaging, video and audio conferencing, and enterprise collaboration.

When he came to Cisco in July of 2002, Barry served as vice president and general manager for VTG’s Customer Contact Business Unit. Two years later he became vice president and general manager for the IP Communications Business Unit, where he helped the company grow from number six to the number one market share position worldwide. Before joining Cisco, Barry spent 18 years at Nortel Networks as vice president and general manager of the contact center business and, prior to that, as vice president of Enterprise Voice for Nortel Networks Europe.

Mr. O’Sullivan holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the National University of Ireland as well as a Masters degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University, California.



Cian Hughes – ITLG Executive Director, Dublin Ireland

Cian Hughes currently operates as a full-time executive consultant where he specializes in Business Management, Operations & Strategic Management and new business startups in the High-Tech sector.

Cian Hughes has held key positions in General Management, Operations Management and Localization Management with some of the worlds leading organizations over the past 19 years including Lotus/IBM, ITP (now SDL), Intel, MetaCreations (now Viewpoint), Pivotal, Curious Labs (now e-frontier).

Additionally Cian played a key role in start up of the International Operations entities in Ireland for MetaCreations, Curious Labs & Pivotal.

Cian holds a BSc in Mathematics and Physics from University College, Dublin, Ireland, and a Diploma in Management from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.


Rich Moran

Rich Moran joined Venrock in 2007.  As a 25-year veteran of Silicon Valley, Rich has served as a business consultant, social scientist, best selling author and evangelist for organization effectiveness. Previously, he served as a Partner at Accenture in the technology, entertainment, media and entertainment practice.  Rich has written five best selling books, including his latest, Nuts, Bolts and Jolts and in his spare time, he runs a small, family vineyard and winery in Knights Valley.
