Fergus Hurley, Founder, Clixtr, Inc.

Fergus Hurley, Founder of Clixtr, is an Irish entrepreneur based in Silicon Valley. He graduated from University College Cork in Electrical Engineering in 2006 and completed his Master's thesis in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2008. Fergus attended the Stanford Summer Institute for Entrepreneurship at the Graduate School of Business during the summer of 2008.

Following the course at Stanford he started a mobile web company called Clixtr, Inc. Clixtr, Inc. has built at it's core is a real-time, location-aware, mobile photo sharing platform. It's first product, Clixtr iPhone App allows people to collaboratively share photos at events and tune into events (Clixtr.com) happening nearby and around the world. Clixtr secured seed funding from DFJ and Silicon Valley angel investors. Clixtr released the first version of its iPhone application as a TechCrunch50 2009 finalist. Clixtr won the Silicon Valley Business Journal Emerging Technology Award 2009 for Social Networking and the Consumer Electronics Show Mobile App Sowdown 2010 in Las Vegas. Clixtr, Inc. launched PicBounce in late 2010 which is the fastest and easiest way to upload photos from an iPhone onto Facebook and Twitter. PicBounce has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times and users have posted hundreds of thousands of photos.
